Pakistan vs South Africa, 1st Test

Day 2: Stumps
17:13 Local Time, 12:13 GMT, 17:43 IST: Pakistan are in a commanding position in this game. South Africa did very well in the morning session to take 5/65 as Pakistan were bowled out for 378 but by then, they were already playing the chasing game on a dry and rough surface. South Africa got off to a good start. Although Markram and Mulder couldn't convert their starts into something big, Rickelton batted brilliantly and kept the scoreboard ticking with some assured strokeplay. He was astute in his defence as well. The talented opener raised a fifty but a brilliant catch from Babar at slip proved to be his undoing as he couldn't convert a fifty into a hundred for the first time in Tests. de Zorzi was scratchy early on but grew in confidence as his innings progressed. But once Rickelton departed, the Proteas lost their way. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and slipped from 174/2 to 200/6. Noman Ali was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he took a 4-fer. The ball is turning and gripping and the visitors still trail by 162 runs. Can their lower order give de Zorzi company who is batting beautifully and make things interesting? Join us tomorrow to catch all the action from Day 3. Goodbye for now.
