PLAYER OF THE MATCH
That's it from this game. We will be there for the 3rd game of the series on Sunday (2nd November). Do join us then. For now it's bye bye from all of us here.
Mitch Marsh | Australia captain: Exactly! We got a good toss to win - there was a bit of moisture underneath. Hoff (Hazlewood) is a great bowler, and when there’s a little in the surface, he makes it count. I thought we bowled collectively really well, kept attacking for wickets, and set the game up nicely. Since the last World Cup we've really tried to build out a squad of, you know, hopefully 25 players that can, if needed, if required, can come to the World Cup and really feel a part of this team and feel connected to everyone. So, you know, we've got some great young talent coming through Australian cricket and the guys were brilliant tonight. (fourth Aussie to go past 2000 T20I runs) I was a bit nervous at 10 off 10, but got going again. Head at the other end takes the pressure off, as he always does. So, yeah - nice to get the chase done. I have so much respect for the Indian cricket team and it's going to be a great three games.
Suryakumar Yadav | India captain: (on Hazlewood) Absolutely. The way he bowled in the powerplay - if you’re four down early, it’s very difficult to recover. Credit goes to him, he bowled really well. (on Abhishek) He’s been doing this for a while now. He knows his game, knows his identity, and it’s good he’s not changing it - that’s what’s brought him success. Hopefully, he sticks with it and plays many more knocks like this for us. (Quick turnaround for the next game) We need to do the same thing what we did in the first game - bat really well if we’re batting first, put nice runs on the board and then come out and defend.
Josh Hazlewood | Player of the Match: The ball feels like it’s coming out nicely at the moment, in whatever format I’m turning up and playing. So, not much needed to change on a wicket like that - there’s enough there for all the quicks. Just about putting the ball in the right areas, don't try too much, and seeing what happens. (anything different you have done this summer?) Not a lot different, really. Minor tweaks here and there, as always, everything’s improving. I think just playing continuous cricket has helped - we’ve been up north playing a few games, then over in New Zealand, now here, West Indies in the winter… I’ve just been going from one series to the next, playing majority of the games, resting when needed. Everything feels in a good place and ready to go. (strong bowling unit) Absolutely. There’s no better place to learn than out here, in front of 80-odd thousand people, against a high-quality team. I’ve been really happy with what I’ve seen from the other end over the last few games - even in the one-day games, Bartt's been on fire. Nath does his job every time he turns up, puts in a 100% and bowls some really tough overs. We’re building a nice group of quicks who’ll be fighting for spots in time to come. (that's it for this series) Heading home tomorrow. I’ll have a week to prepare for the Shield game against Victoria at the SCG, then we head to Perth for the first Test. It’s important to get that red ball rhythm in, bowl consecutive overs, spend big days in the field - tick that off and then it's Perth.

22:35 Local Time, 11:35 GMT, 17:05 IST: Easy win for Australia. Dont' be fooled by the late wickets. It all came too late. The powerplay set it up. Head and Mitch Marsh went on the attack and didn't give India a chance. Especially the latter, his two sixes - one off Harshit and the other off Kuldeep especially brutal. Those two were in a hurry, before Varun got Head. Marsh after smashing Kuldeep, got out in the same over. Then Australia struggled a tad as they lost wickets but the result was never in doubt. Australia chased it down with plenty of room to spare. The bowlers set it up with Hazlewood leading the way and from there it was always going to be tough for India. Also this loss ends Shivam Dube's unbeaten streak in T20Is from 2019. Stay tuned for the post-match stuff....

Kuldeep Yadav to Stoinis, 2 runs, Australia win. On a length on off, Stoinis gets forward to drive to the vacant cover-point region and comes back for the 2nd
Again the ump calls it a dead-ball. He gestures that SKY was talking when Kuldeep Yadav came to bowl.

Kuldeep Yadav to Stoinis, no run, tossed up full down leg, Stoinis looks to sweep and gets a bit of glove on it, rolls down and near Samson
Some movement and the ump calls it a dead-ball even as Kuldeep was into his delivery stride. A chat between Kuldeep and the ump. Stoinis has a chat to Samson who smiles. A slip and a legslip in.

Bumrah to Matthew Short, out Bowled!! Late joy for India. Searing inswinging yorker on the stumps, Matthew Short is late on the attempt to dig it out. Unplayable delivery and it goes under the bat and the toes. Crashes into the stumps and no wonder Bumrah has a big smile on his face. A golden blob for Short. On a hat-trick is Bumrah. Bumrah to Matthew Short, THATS OUT!! Bowled!!
Matthew Short, right handed bat, comes to the crease
Two staggered slips and a deepish short-leg.

Bumrah to Mitchell Owen, out Caught by Samson!! Spike on RTS and Mitchell Owen wastes a review. A slower-ball off-cutter outside off, full, Owen leaning back, makes room and tries to drive, manages a thin nick behind. Samson and Bumrah were very convinced. The ump when he saw Bumrah signal for the review, gives it out. Owen takes it and RTS proves the nick. Mitchell Owen c Samson b Bumrah 14(10) [6s-1]
Bumrah to Mitchell Owen, THATS OUT!! Caught!!
Given out caught behind quite late. Will Mitchell Owen review? Yes he does. OUT.
